Adam Williams presents his prediction for the NBA match.
The New York Knicks have hit a remarkable stride, securing six consecutive wins. With two games left before the year's end, both against the Washington Wizards, they have a fantastic opportunity to gift their fans with two road victories.
Washington Wizards
Things remain challenging for the Washington Wizards. Although they snapped a 16-game losing streak with a surprising victory over the Denver Nuggets (122:113), they've only managed to win two of their last eight games, both against fellow strugglers the Charlotte Hornets. Defensive problems persist as they continue to hold the league's worst record, conceding 121.8 points per game. Offensively, they're also among the bottom five teams, averaging 107.6. It seems that their star player, Jordan Poole, only performs well against lower-ranked teams and tends to disappear in other matchups.
New York Knicks
The Knicks approach this encounter on a high. With tough opponents behind them, they just need to defeat the Wizards twice. The Knicks have been improving with each game, currently boasting the league's sixth-best offence, scoring over 117 points per outing. Their defence also shone in their last game, allowing the Orlando Magic just 85 points and a mere 36.8% field goal percentage. Notably, the Magic took just 12 free throws compared to the Knicks' 34 attempts.
Washington Wizards vs New York Knicks Prediction
The New York Knicks are one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference, while the Washington Wizards are the worst. Is there really anything more to add? We doubt it. We expect the New Yorkers to present themselves and their fans with a resounding victory over the underdog.
