Wild West Gold Demo Mode

Legalbet presents the demo version of Wild West Gold by Pragmatic Play. The slot was released back in 2020 but remains very popular among players in Romanian casinos. This is mainly thanks to sticky wilds in the free spins and extremely high volatility. And if cowboys aren't your thing, you can always find something else in the Online Slots section.

Design and Theme

🖼️ Graphics

The visuals of Wild West Gold are very typical: wooden houses, a sunset over the prairies, and characters with equally suspicious faces. The backdrop is a Wild West town where it feels like every other sign ends with the word Saloon. The 5x4 grid looks standard but is framed with a “vintage” golden ornament. Symbols include cowboys wearing hats, revolvers, bullet belts, and sheriff badges. Everything is bright but somewhat cartoonish — reminiscent of comic books.

🎶 Sound

The music is a typical western: guitar riffs over a broken rhythm, like someone tapping heels on wooden planks. When the reels spin, you hear the clip-clop of hooves, and winning triggers short tunes that say, “Well, you came to the bar for a reason today”. Special moments like wilds or free spins are highlighted with a suspenseful chord, like before a showdown. It all works to build the atmosphere, though it’s not very original.

During free spins, sticky wilds with multipliers freeze in place. This sharply raises the intensity of the bonus game if the wilds land well. The base game doesn’t have such effects, but multiplier wilds still appear and sometimes pay off.

Winning Combinations

All symbols pay left to right on consecutive reels, starting from the leftmost.

Special Symbols

  • Wild (Sheriff badge)
Appears only on reels 2, 3, and 4. Each wild has a random multiplier x2, x3, or x5. If several wilds appear on a winning line, their multipliers add up. In free spins, wilds become sticky and remain fixed until the bonus ends.
  • Scatter (Golden sunset)
Appears only on reels 1, 3, and 5. Three such symbols trigger the bonus game.
  • Overlay Scatter (Golden sheriff star)
Can appear only during the bonus, over any other symbols, including sticky wilds. The number of these determines the number of additional free spins.

Bonus Game

The bonus starts with 8 free spins. All wilds appearing on the middle reels (2–4) lock in place until the free spins end, keeping their multipliers. This is the main way to build big wins.

Golden stars grant extra spins as follows:

  • 2 stars — +4 spins
  • 3 stars — +8 spins
  • 4 stars — +12 spins
  • 5 stars — +20 spins

If the total win after all free spins is less than x10 your bet, the slot awards x10 as a consolation prize.

RTP, Volatility, Max Win

At first, it may seem like the slot doesn’t want to play. In reality, you just need to wait for the bonus round, preferably with multiplier wilds landing early and well. Without that, the round easily ends at x5 or x6 your bet.

  • RTP: 96,51%.
  • Volatility: Extremely high. The slot can go 200–300 spins without a hint of bonus.
  • Max win: x10,000 of your bet. Once the bonus win reaches this cap, it ends immediately, even if there are free spins left.

Our Verdict

Wild West Gold looks like a direct path to quick free spins and wild luck, but in reality, it’s more complicated. In regular spins, it gives something small every 3-4 spins — but these are tiny wins: x0.2, x0.6, max x1.5. Sometimes the slot teases you with multiplier wilds, but no winning combinations form, and everything slips by.

In 300 demo spins, our biggest non-bonus win was x14. The bonus didn’t save us either — only x18, and after the test, we were down 180 bets. Frustrated, we bought the bonus three more times — and regretted it: max win was x62, and once the slot activated a protection feature and gave just 10 bets. Sticky wilds sound great in theory but often serve as sticky reminders of bad luck.

This slot is for those ready to endure long dry spells for one lucky blast. If you love Pragmatic but want a bit more balance, try The Dog House Megaways. Looking specifically for westerns? Then try the less harsh Wild West Duels.
