Design and Theme
🖼️ Graphics
The slot begins with a view of Olympus — a pink sky, light mist, golden columns floating at the edge. But the divine background doesn’t draw too much attention and doesn’t distract from the reels. The symbols are bright but not overwhelming: rings, cups, crystals, and other artefacts. Zeus stands off to the side and remains silent most of the time. However, when a multiplier lands, he comes alive: lightning, light in his eyes, movement — you immediately see that you’ve pleased the god. By the way, he always reacts ahead of time, even before the multiplier appears on the reels (even if there’s no win in the end).
In the free spins, the background turns cooler: purple shifts to blue, and the light dims. Zeus also looks sterner — his mood clearly changes (doesn’t want to give out the money?). The slot shows which symbols triggered a win — this moment stays on the screen. Some may find this convenient, while others might find it distracting.
🎶 Sound
The background music is a bit mysterious, fitting for Olympus, but it becomes repetitive and fades into the background. The win sounds are clear and loud enough to distinguish against the spinning reels. However, the signals for multipliers and scatters often trigger without any benefit: lightning, flashes, crashes — but no win. After a couple of minutes, you stop reacting to this.

Multipliers can fall during any spin. However, they are only activated if there’s a win. After cascades, all multipliers on the screen are summed and multiply the total spin result.
There are no classic respins — instead, there are cascades: after each spin, the symbols disappear and new ones fall from above. One spin can last in waves as long as there are combinations. In the bonus game, retriggers are possible.
Looking at the mechanics more broadly, the slot includes options for players who want to tailor the game to their preferences. You can turn off the music, sounds, the intro screen, and enable Battery Saver — a mode that reduces device load by simplifying animations. Whether it’s effective — we haven’t tried it, but the option is there.

Special Symbols
How to play Gates of Olympus without wilds? It’s simple — here, Zeus, multipliers, and scatters are in charge. What affects the mechanics:
- Zeus (Scatter): Works anywhere. For 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatters, you get x3, x5, x100, or x500 of your bet. And for 4 or more, the bonus game starts.
- Multiplier Sphere: Appears in all modes. It gives a random multiplier from x2 to x500 and is applied to the entire current win. Multiple spheres on the screen are summed.
Bonus Game
To trigger the bonus, you need to land 4 or more scatters — you’ll receive 15 free spins. During the round, all multipliers that land are added to the total counter, and from then on, each win in the bonus is multiplied by the accumulated value. This is the main feature of the round. In the free spins, you have:
- Cascades with symbol updates
- Multipliers from x2 to x500
- Scatters: 3 or more add +5 free spins, with no limit on retriggers
There’s also a Double Chance mode, which adds x1.25 to your bet and increases the chances of landing scatters. When this mode is active, the bonus buy feature becomes unavailable: the slot only gives fair entries through spins.
RTP, Volatility, Max Win
The RTP in Gates of Olympus is stable at 96.50% in all modes. The volatility is maximum. The maximum win is capped at x5000 times your bet. As soon as the total win reaches the cap, the round is forcibly ended.
Our Verdict
Gates of Olympus is not a slot that lulls you into boredom: even in empty spins, it makes you wait for a miracle. In the base game, wins occur every 3–5 spins, mostly small ones. The most common symbols are crystals and other low-paying symbols, while top ones like the diadem rarely appear. Multipliers sometimes fall without any payouts — they look impressive but are disappointing.
Double Chance really increases the number of scatters — we saw 2 per spin significantly more often. But after 70+ spins, the bonus never triggered, and at some point, the slot just entered a dry streak. When the bonus finally landed, it was more or less steady: multipliers accumulated, but there was no real jump. After that, the slot suddenly gave a decent win — as if to apologise.
The bonus buy is a different story. The session was active, and multipliers appeared more frequently. But again, mostly base symbols. No rings, no drama.
This slot is definitely not for those who love simple wilds and guaranteed action. It’s very divine — sometimes it roars, sometimes it’s just fog and loud promises. It’s suited for those who don’t mind long series without a bonus and enjoy cascades with potential. It’s not for those who want straightforward mechanics with wilds and x100 in three spins.
For something similar, you can try:
- Starlight Princess (also from Pragmatic, but with a different presentation)
- Zeus vs Hades (darker and tougher, but with wilds and mode selection)
- Or something lighter like Sweet Bonanza if you want the same cascades.
