Design and Theme
🖼️ Graphics
In the base game, Big Bass Reel Repeat looks like a postcard from an alternate 1980s: a boat cruises on the surface, while a strange cosmic ring hangs in the sky, as if a satellite is watching the fishing trip. Underwater, the backdrop is sunset-warm, with a soft pink glow and tidy symbols. The grid is wrapped in columns of bubbles and seaweed, which makes the screen feel alive rather than static.
In free spins, the background shifts into deep blue, the plants glow with neon and a progression panel appears above the reels. Money fish line up in clusters and large blocks, while level labels for Reel Repeat flash at the top of the screen. Visually, it feels less like fishing and more like a space arcade, where every successful hit pushes the intensity up another notch.
🎶 Sound
The soundtrack is upbeat, with a clear rhythm and a light touch of retro synths — a dynamic melody that keeps things moving without becoming irritating over long spin streaks. In the background, you hear splashes and soft bubbling, while the reels add distinctive clicks and small bubble-pop bursts as they spin.

Special symbols
To understand how Big Bass Reel Repeat works, you only need to grasp how the money fish, the fisherman and the scatter interact. The entire slot is built around this trio, while the rest of the features sit on top of it.
- Money symbol (fish with a value tag): appears in the base game and during free spins, takes a random value from x2 to x5,000 of the total bet and can land as a single symbol or as a large 2×2 / 3×3 block.
- Wild (fisherman with a neon outline): appears only in free spins, substitutes for any symbols except the scatter and the money fish. Each wild collects all Money symbol values on the screen and is tracked in a separate meter above the reels, which controls retriggers and the growth of the collection multiplier. The wild does not pay for line combinations.
- Scatter (Free Spins logo): appears on all reels and triggers free spins. Scatters do not have separate line payouts, but they are what activate the core of the slot, and during gameplay, two scatters on the screen may trigger an extra chance to land the third.
Bonus game
Big Bass Reel Repeat has one base bonus mode — free spins with fisherman progression and random modifiers — supported by extra features such as bonus replays, a two-scatter respin chance and additional random boosts.
In the base game, if exactly two scatters land on the reels, a random effect may trigger: the reels shift symbols, a respin is played, or an extra scatter is simply added to a random position. This is not guaranteed every time, but it noticeably livens up the base game when you are one symbol away from the bonus.
Free spins with fisherman progression and modifiers
- The round is triggered by scatters: 3, 4 or 5 symbols award 10, 15 or 20 free spins respectively.
- Before the round begins, the player chooses one of 12 cards, each hiding modifiers: more money symbols, higher collection multipliers or a version with faster retriggers.
- During free spins, every fisherman wild collects all fish values and fills the meter above the reels.
- Every four fishermen trigger a retrigger for +10 spins, while the money collection multiplier increases step-by-step: first x2, then x3, then x10.
- At level four, the progression stops — after that, the slot either delivers a big payout or simply plays out the remaining spins.
Inside free spins, additional random effects can also trigger:
- If there are fishermen but no money fish, the slot may add fish.
- If it is the opposite — money without a fisherman — a hook appears and pulls a fisherman onto the screen.
- In rare cases, the BAZOOKA animation triggers and replaces part of the symbols with potentially more favourable ones.
REPEAT feature
Depending on the selected Ante Bet mode or bonus purchase, after free spins end, the game may show a separate screen with a chance to replay the round that has just been completed. If successful, the number of starting spins, active modifiers and the win already collected are all kept, and new results are added on top.
RTP, volatility, Max win
RTP — 96.51%. Volatility is high. The maximum win is capped at x5,000 of the bet.
Our verdict
Big Bass Reel Repeat is a more tense and experimental take on Pragmatic Play’s classic fishing slots. The base game is fairly calm and often spins without much happening, while the real action sits in free spins with modifiers and the ability to replay the bonus you have just played.
In a test session, the slot easily produced long stretches of dead spins, then suddenly landed a short bonus at the lowest levels, and only occasionally allowed a strong chain of big fish values paired with a fisherman at a high collection multiplier. Repeat looks tempting, but it does not trigger as often as you might hope, and it can easily become yet another layer of variance on top of an already quite harsh gameplay loop.
Be especially careful with the most expensive bonus purchase: there are no guarantees of strong returns, and in practice, the slot’s max win is only x4 of its price. So it is worth thinking twice about whether you want that level of risk for that cost.
If you want something more structured after the neon night fishing, you can look at Ze Zeus, which offers three different bonus variants. And if you prefer a more hardcore hunt with bombs, multipliers and free spins, Duck Hunters provides a different take on risk and bonus rounds.
