In the return leg of the Europa League qualifiers, Brann host Häcken after a convincing 2:0 win away from home. The Norwegians have a great chance to seal their progress to the next round, while the Swedes must commit numbers forward to try and rescue the tie. Doing that in Bergen, however, will be a huge challenge.
Brann showed in the first meeting that they are superior in both organisation and speed in transition. They enjoyed 56% possession and converted two of their four shots on target. At home, they are even more assured — winning four of their last five matches, including a 3:1 victory over the Norwegian league leaders Viking.
Häcken are going through a poor run — just one win in their last eight games. Even their success over Anderlecht was an exception, as they only scored from the penalty spot in stoppage time and then went through on penalties. Over this stretch, they have conceded 14 goals, including six against Djurgården (1:6), and have found the net just once in their last three outings.
Brann’s strong home advantage should prevent Häcken from mounting a serious comeback, while the visitors’ need to attack will leave spaces to exploit. Expect another victory for the Norwegian side.
