West Ham United vs Newcastle United: prediction & betting odds 10 Mar 2025
Betting tips 10 Mar 2025
West Ham United’s spirits have lifted towards the end of February. If they secure their third consecutive Premier League victory, they could overtake giants like Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur. Newcastle United, however, were not helped by their additional game, but they are still the favourites heading into the match in London.
West Ham have kept two consecutive clean sheets, with Alphonse Areola delivering strong performances despite facing more shots than his outfield teammates have managed at the other end. Even with limited attacking firepower, they have found ways to score, sometimes with a bit of fortune, as seen in the win over Leicester City. West Ham have adopted a cautious approach in recent weeks, leading to five of their last six matches staying under 2.5 goals.
Newcastle’s extra FA Cup match did not do them any favours. A dramatic loss to Brighton after extra time saw them suffer a major setback. Anthony Gordon received a straight red card, ruling him out of this match and, crucially, the EFL Cup final against Liverpool. Fabian Schär had a late equaliser controversially disallowed, while Alexander Isak left the pitch early, seemingly struggling physically. His status remains uncertain, but even if he plays, he will not be at full fitness. With their attacking options diminished, their goal-scoring potential looks reduced, which further supports a low-scoring affair.
With West Ham United adopting a more disciplined approach and Newcastle United facing key absences and fitness concerns, this match could turn into a tight, low-scoring battle.
