Alcaraz defeats Monfils in the fourth round of the thousandaire in Shanghai
World number two Carlos Alcaraz of Spain defeated Frenchman Gael Monfils in the fourth round of the ATP-1000 tournament in Shanghai - 6:4, 7:5.
The game lasted 1 hour and 28 minutes. Alcaraz served five times, did not make a single double fault and realized two break points out of six earned. Monfils had ten aces, one double fault and no break points.
In the quarterfinals of the Masters, Alcaraz will face the strongest pairing of Tommy Paul (USA) - Tomas Machac (Czech Republic).
