Zverev defeats Ruud in straight sets at ATP Finals
World number two Alexander Zverev secured his second consecutive victory at the ATP Finals in Turin.
In the second round of the John Newcombe group, the German defeated Norwegian tennis player Casper Ruud, ranked seventh in the world, with a scoreline of 7-6 (7-3), 6-3.
The match lasted 1 hour and 28 minutes. Ruud served three aces, failed to earn any break points, and made no double faults. Zverev, on his part, recorded 11 aces, secured and converted one break point, and made one double fault.
The German currently leads the John Newcombe group, having won both his matches. The Norwegian stands in second place with one win and one loss.
In the final round of the group stage, Zverev is set to play against Spain's Carlos Alcaraz, while Ruud will face Russian player Andrey Rublev.
The ATP Finals will conclude on November 17, with a prize pool exceeding $15 million.
