Scuderia Ferrari may not be improving as quickly as their supporters would like, but they are still moving in the right direction, while Lewis Hamilton has already shown in Spain that he is capable not only of reaching the podium but also of winning races.

Can Lewis Hamilton give the British fans a second win?
As ever, the only people capable of derailing Lewis Hamilton’s career, or indeed the race of any driver in red overalls, are the Ferrari strategists. Pointless overcuts and undercuts with the timing completely wrong, along with sudden calls to try a stint on softs, have cost both drivers podium places more than once.
Still, it is too early to write off Scuderia Ferrari. Firstly, the cars have clearly improved through high speed corners. Back in the spring, both drivers were lacking downforce through long sequences of corners, but the latest upgrades have plainly improved the balance of the car. Those are exactly the qualities that matter most at Silverstone, where drivers spend much of the lap without heavy braking.
Secondly, Hamilton himself is in his best form since the start of the season. At least from a mental point of view. The qualifying mistakes have disappeared, his pace over long runs has improved and his communication with the engineers has become far more effective, even if he does not always agree with the team’s pit stop calls.
Either way, there is a feeling that Silverstone could bring him a podium and become the key turning point after which Scuderia Ferrari finally start making the right calls, unlock the hidden potential of the car and fight for victories.

Legalbet prediction for the 2026 British Grand Prix
Hamilton has often admitted that the support from the Silverstone grandstands gives him extra energy even in the toughest phases of a race. Of course, home advantage will also help George Russell, who is clearly in form and, together with the Mercedes engineers, has taken the car close to its ideal setup.
But Lewis Hamilton’s experience, combined with a smart tyre call from the team, no laughing, really could change everything. If the upgraded Scuderia Ferrari car can steal precious tenths from George Russell, then at the very least Lewis will not let him disappear down the road. In that scenario, a properly timed undercut could theoretically bring him victory.
Even so, the more appealing bet, despite the slightly shorter odds, is for both Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen to make the podium. Max’s car may still occasionally suffer from issues with the battery, steering rack or tyre wear distribution, but its current level of downforce and speed should be enough for him to take the fight to both Mercedes and Ferrari.
