Manchester City held by late PSG equaliser in Women's Champions League

Manchester City drew 1-1 with Paris Saint-Germain at Joie Stadium in the Women's Champions League. Khadija Shaw's 85th-minute penalty was cancelled out three minutes later by PSG substitute Tara Elimbi Gilbert, who scored from close range.

Shaw won the penalty when Griedge Mbock Bathy brought her down, then struck it low to PSG goalkeeper Oliwia Peda's right. City have now drawn all three European matches this season, following draws away to Bayern Munich and at home to Real Madrid, and are still awaiting their first win.

  • Paris Saint-Germain opened their 2026/27 Women's Champions League league phase with a 1-1 draw at Real Madrid on 22 September, then beat OH Leuven 5-0 at home on 1 October.
  • The Women's Champions League league-phase format put 18 teams in one table, with six matches per club, direct quarter-final places for the top four and play-offs for fifth to 12th.
