During the autumn group stage of the Nations League, both Armenia and Georgia frequently avoided taking the initiative, preferring to limit their opponents’ space. In Yerevan, the teams are likely to take a cautious approach—one defensive lapse could determine the fate of promotion to League B.

Even in a group featuring relatively modest opposition in Latvia, the Faroe Islands, and North Macedonia, Armenia did not always play attacking football—failing to score in three of their last five matches. In their final four group-stage matches, they managed just two goals, allowing Ukraine to overtake them in the standings. Georgia are expected to stick to their familiar 3-1-4-2 formation, relying heavily on the attacking duo of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Georges Mikautadze.

Armenia and Georgia will be wary of taking risks in their own halves. Expect a game with few dangerous attacks in Yerevan—both teams are unlikely to score.
