Bournemouth vs Manchester United: prediction & betting odds 27 April 2025

The Matchday 34 Premier League encounter between Bournemouth and Manchester United will take place on April 27 at the Vitality Stadium. Bournemouth vs. Manchester United: prediction and betting odds, statistics.

Bournemouth

Andoni Iraola's side has kept clean sheets in two consecutive league matches. They first defeated Fulham at home with a 1-0 scoreline, followed by a goalless draw away against Crystal Palace. The team is currently eighth in the league table, trailing the European competition spots by eight points. Bournemouth has minimized their chances of breaking into the top seven, having secured just one win in their last eight Premier League outings (3 draws and 4 losses).

  • No more than three goals have been scored in 6 of Bournemouth's last 8 Premier League games.
  • Bournemouth has not won the second half in their last 10 league matches (6 draws and 4 losses).
  • At least one team failed to score in 6 of Bournemouth's last 8 home Premier League matches.

Predicted lineup for Bournemouth (4-2-3-1)

Kepa Arrizabalaga – Adam Smith, Illya Zabarnyi, Milos Kerkez, Dean Donny Hoesen – Justin Kluivert, Tyler Adams – Alex Scott, Dango Ouattara, Antoine Semenyo – Evanilson.

Manchester United

The Red Devils have not won in their last four Premier League matches. During this stretch, Ruben Amorim's men lost to Newcastle (1-4), Nottingham Forest, and Wolverhampton (both 0-1), and drew with Manchester City (0-0). The club sits in 14th place but is no longer concerned about relegation battles. Notably, Manchester United has lost 15 matches in a single Premier League season for the first time since the league's inception.

  • The club has not won in 8 of their last 10 Premier League games (3 draws and 5 losses).
  • No more than three goals have been scored in 5 of Manchester United's last 6 Premier League matches.
  • The Red Devils have not won the first half in 13 of their last 14 away league games (9 draws and 4 losses).

Predicted lineup for Manchester United (5-3-2)

Andre Onana – Patrick Dorgu, Victor Lindelof, Noussair Mazraoui, Harry Amass, Tyler Fredrickson – Kobbie Mainoo, Christian Eriksen, Manuel Ugarte – Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho.

Match Prediction: Bournemouth vs. Manchester United

The Red Devils continue to set unwanted records in the Premier League, while Bournemouth, on the other hand, has achieved their highest points tally in the English top flight (49). Andoni Iraola's side struggled during the spring segment of the season, losing hope for a Champions League spot, yet they still have a slim chance of qualifying for European competitions. They will try to capitalize on this, especially since the Red Devils lack motivation at the season's end.

Manchester United will focus all their efforts on the Europa League. Winning this tournament would secure a spot in the main round of the Champions League. The club has already shifted focus away from the league, and Ruben Amorim has started integrating youth players into the squad, signaling preparation for the next season. In the last two seasons, the teams have faced each other three times in the Premier League: Bournemouth won twice with a 3-0 scoreline, and there was one high-scoring draw (2-2). I predict that the hosts will secure three points without much difficulty.

My prediction – Bournemouth win

Betting tips 27 April 2025

Manchester United are in desperate need of a turnaround. They have suffered consecutive 3:0 defeats to Bournemouth at Old Trafford in each of the past two Decembers. At present, it seems more likely that they will endure another heavy loss than come away with a win.

Andre Onana remains an unreliable presence in goal. The Cameroonian goalkeeper conceded six times across both legs of the Europa League tie against Olympique Lyonnais and let in four more against Newcastle United. Manchester United only progressed past the French club thanks to a bold tactical gamble by Ruben Amorim, who pushed Harry Maguire into a centre-forward role — a move that paid off when the former captain scored the decisive fifth goal at Old Trafford. However, such moments of fortune are unlikely to become a regular occurrence. In their most recent English Premier League match, Manchester United missed 10 of their 12 shots, while their opponents scored with one of their first meaningful attacks — a direct free-kick. Onana once again failed to impress, making just one save across the 90 minutes. Their attacking woes were exacerbated by a season-ending injury to Joshua Zirkzee. The squad was further weakened by the absence of key players, including Matthijs de Ligt, Lisandro Martinez, and Amad Diallo.

This depleted squad will be vulnerable, and Bournemouth will be eager to capitalise. That said, they have struggled to convert their chances in recent rounds. Their only goal against Fulham came in the opening minute, when the visitors were slow to react and Antoine Semenyo capitalised on a simple attacking move. Against Crystal Palace, Bournemouth failed to make their numerical advantage count after a red card late in the first half. Kepa Arrizabalaga was only seriously tested in the match against Fulham, where he made seven saves. Crystal Palace didn’t manage a single shot on target.

The overriding concern for Manchester United remains the inconsistency of Andre Onana, who looks capable of conceding at any point. Meanwhile, the squad continues to waste attacking chances. These issues make a strong case that Bournemouth will avoid defeat. As for the total goals market, while the last four meetings between these sides have all seen over 2.5 goals, this fixture could just as easily be settled by a single strike. For that reason, the smarter play is Total Under 3.5 goals.
