North Macedonia vs Wales: betting odds 25 Mar 2025

The Matchday 2 clash in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers between North Macedonia and Wales will take place on March 25 at the National Arena "Tose Proeski" in Skopje. North Macedonia vs. Wales: prediction and betting odds, statistics.

North Macedonia

Blagoja Milevski's side had no trouble in their opening match against Liechtenstein away (3-0). As a result, North Macedonia secured their fourth win in the last five World Cup qualifiers. The only setback in this run came against a strong Portugal side (0-2). Currently, North Macedonia leads the group, ahead of Wales on goal difference.

  • At least one of the opponents failed to score in regular time in 5 of the last 6 home qualifiers for the World Cup.
  • At least four goals have been scored in 90 minutes in 4 of the last 6 home qualifiers.
  • North Macedonia failed to score in the first half in 8 of their last 11 home World Cup qualifiers.

Predicted lineup for North Macedonia (4-4-2)

Stole Dimitrievski – Visar Musliu, Nikola Serafimov, Gjoko Zajkov, Ezgjan Alioski – Darko Churlinov, Elif Elmas, Isnik Alimi, Enis Bardhi – Bojan Miovski, Aleksandar Trajkovski.

Wales

In their opening match, Craig Bellamy's side comfortably defeated Kazakhstan at home (3-1). As a result, Wales extended their unbeaten streak in World Cup qualifiers to ten matches (7 wins, 3 draws). However, the team has failed to keep a clean sheet in four of their last five matches. In the standings, Wales is in second place behind North Macedonia.

  • The team has not lost in regular time in 9 of their last 10 away World Cup qualifiers (4 wins, 5 draws).
  • The team scored exactly one or two goals in 90 minutes in 6 of their last 7 away qualifiers.
  • Wales has not conceded more than one goal in the second half in their last 13 away World Cup qualifiers.

Predicted lineup for Wales (4-2-3-1)

Karl Darlow – Connor Roberts, Joe Rodon, Ben Davies, Neco Williams – Sorba Thomas, Josh Sheehan – Daniel James, Brennan Johnson, David Brooks – Liam Cullen.

Match Prediction: North Macedonia vs. Wales

At home, North Macedonia tends to play boldly and pushes forward. Scoring goals is rarely an issue: in their last 12 home World Cup qualifiers, the team failed to score only three times. During this period, they have breached the defenses of formidable opponents like Spain and Italy. However, they have also conceded in 9 of their last 13 home qualifiers, and in the two instances they kept a clean sheet, they faced a weak Liechtenstein side.

Wales also favors attacking football and often scores even on the road: in their last 12 away World Cup qualifiers, they failed to score only once. However, they have conceded in 10 of their last 14 away qualifiers, and in the previous qualifying campaign, they conceded seven goals in four away matches.

I believe both teams will effectively showcase their attacking prowess, so my prediction: Both teams to score – yes

Betting tips 25 Mar 2025

Both North Macedonia and Wales opened their qualifying campaigns with convincing wins on Saturday, suggesting they’ve hit form at the right time. But as they square off in Skopje, the balance could tilt toward the visitors — Wales  have a deeper, more versatile squad, especially when it comes to options off the bench.

North Macedonia were clinical against Liechtenstein, easing to a 3:0 victory with 17 shots and 2.53 xG. Their front three — Enis Bardhi, Elif Elmas, and Bojan Miovski — remain the key creative outlets. However, defensively there are concerns: Visar Musliu and Nikola Serafimov continue to look shaky at the back. It’s worth noting that in Euro 2024 qualification, North Macedonia conceded a staggering 20 goals in eight matches despite having some attacking potential.

Wales, meanwhile, were far more impressive in tougher company. Having secured promotion to Nations League A by topping a group with Turkey, they also dominated Kazakhstan (3:1) in their opening qualifier. With 72% possession, 2.17 xG, and seven shots on target, they showcased their fluid attacking play. Even better for Craig Bellamy, the likes of Kieffer Moore, Nathan Broadhead and Chris Mepham weren’t needed from the start — a luxury that North Macedonia simply don’t have.

Under sustained pressure, the Macedonian defence is prone to errors. And while the match could remain tight, Wales have the depth and structure to consistently create chances and at least find the net once, if not more.
