Juventus have been dealing with a limited squad depth for several weeks—without Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal, their defence hasn't been as robust. In the cup match against Cagliari, Thiago Motta successfully utilised his bench, with Nicolás González coming off the bench to provide a goal and an assist.
