Bayer defender Tah: "I've decided not to extend my contract with the club"

Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah has announced his decision not to extend his contract with the club and plans to leave as a free agent.

During the last summer transfer window, Bayern Munich showed interest in the German player.

"I’m not gonna sign a new deal at Bayer Leverkusen. My decision is made. I will give my best until the end here and then we will see about my future club. But my decision is to go and try different experience," Tah told Süddeutsche Zeitung.

Jonathan Tah has been with Bayer since 2015. Last season, the 28-year-old defender played a crucial role in helping the team win both the Bundesliga and the German Cup, scoring six goals and providing one assist in 48 matches. In the current campaign, Tah has made four appearances.

Tah's contract with Bayer Leverkusen expires next summer. Transfermarkt values the player at €30 million.
