Brazilian fighter Charles Oliveira and American Michael Chandler, both competing in the lightweight division, are set for a rematch at UFC 309. This was reported by journalist Robbie Barstool, citing UFC President Dana White.
The bout between Oliveira and Chandler will headline the event, which will take place in New York on November 15 and will be scheduled for five rounds.
It is noted that a fight between Chandler and Conor McGregor could still happen, but the American fighter wanted to return to the octagon as soon as possible, leading to the selection of a different opponent for him.
Charles Oliveira and Michael Chandler previously faced each other at UFC 262 in May 2021, where the Brazilian won by technical knockout.
Throughout his career, the 34-year-old Oliveira has secured 34 victories, suffered ten defeats, and had one no-contest. Meanwhile, the 38-year-old Chandler boasts 23 wins and eight losses in MMA.
