By mid-afternoon on August 8, Team USA is leading the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
The Americans won 27 gold, 35 silver and 33 bronze medals. The Chinese team is in second place (26 gold, 24 silver and 17 bronze medals). Australia is in third (18, 14, 11).
The UK team is in fifth place (12, 17, 20).
The Olympic Games run until August 11.
