Alcaraz Stunned by World No. 74 in US Open Second Round

Spanish tennis star and world number three, Carlos Alcaraz, suffered a shocking defeat to the Netherlands' Botic van de Zandschulp, currently ranked 74th by the ATP, with a scoreline of 1-6, 5-7, 4-6 in the second round of the US Open 2024.

The match lasted 2 hours and 21 minutes. Alcaraz recorded two aces, one double fault, and converted two out of five break points. In contrast, van de Zandschulp tallied two aces, committed seven double faults, and converted six out of nine break points.

The Dutchman will face Britain's Jack Draper in the next round of the US Open on August 31.
