Ancelotti on Draw with Las Palmas: "A Lot of Things Aren't Working for Real Madrid"

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti assessed his team's 1-1 draw with Las Palmas in the third round of La Liga.

"The first half was poor; we struggled to find the right game plan, reclaim possession, and maintain balance. This issue occurred in our match against Mallorca as well. We need to find a swift solution, and I hope we can achieve it. We’re finding it hard to establish the solid form we had last season, but we must avoid making excuses. The schedule is tight, and we need a quick resolution as we have a match on Sunday. We must better communicate our strategy to the players, focus more, and work effectively. These three games have shown me that a lot of things aren't working for Real Madrid. We play slowly, lack mobility, and the ball reaches the forwards when the opposing defense is already set, making it hard to find space between the lines. Our pressing was good, but we need to improve our ball recovery in the midfield," Ancelotti stated at the post-match press conference.

Following the match, Real Madrid now have five points and have moved up to fourth place in the La Liga standings. Las Palmas, with two points, are in 16th place.

Real Madrid will play their next match against Real Betis on September 1, while Las Palmas will face Deportivo Alavés on the same day.
