Arteta: "David Raya made one of the best saves I’ve seen in my life"

Arsenal's head coach Mikel Arteta reflected on the goalless draw against Atalanta in their opening match of the Champions League group stage. The two teams played to a stalemate (0-0).

In a key moment of the match, Arsenal's goalkeeper David Raya made a crucial save, denying Mateo Retegui's penalty attempt in the 51st minute and subsequently thwarting the follow-up effort from the forward.

”If you can’t win, you have to take the point. We started well, then we lost control and we were very inconsistent. The game was open but we didn’t suffer defensively, apart from the penalty. David Raya made one of the best saves I’ve seen in my life.” Arteta was quoted by the UEFA website.

Looking ahead, the London side will host Paris Saint-Germain in their next fixture, scheduled for October 1st.
