Atletico may include Felix in deal for Gallagher from Chelsea

Atletico Madrid forward João Félix could be on his way to Chelsea.

According to insider Fabrizio Romano, the Madrid club may include the 24-year-old Portuguese international in a deal to acquire Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher. The clubs are currently discussing this possibility, as well as negotiating with the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes.

Meanwhile, the transfer of Atletico forward Samu Omorodion to Chelsea is reportedly close to collapsing. It was previously reported that the Blues would pay around €41 million for the 20-year-old Spaniard and sign him until the summer of 2031. All parties are working to find a solution to ensure Omorodion's transfer goes through.

Both Atletico and Chelsea are eager to avoid disruptions to the transfers of Conor Gallagher and Julian Alvarez. Last week, news surfaced that Atletico had reached an agreement with Manchester City to purchase the Argentine forward for €95 million. Both clubs are actively pursuing the completion of these transfers.

Atletico Madrid signed João Félix from Benfica in the summer of 2019 for a fee of €127 million. During the second half of the 2022/23 season, the forward was loaned to Chelsea, where he scored four goals in 20 appearances.

In the previous season, Félix was also loaned out, this time to Barcelona. While with the Catalan club, the 24-year-old forward played 44 matches, contributing 10 goals and 6 assists.

Félix's contract with Atletico runs until the summer of 2029. According to Transfermarkt, his market value is estimated at €30 million.
