Case against Real Betis midfielder Carvalho closed in Spain
The Provincial Court of Seville has closed the case against Real Betis midfielder William Carvalho, who was suspected of rape.
According to ABC, the court ruled the allegations made by the woman who filed the complaint against the 32-year-old Portuguese player to be “unfounded,” stating that the facts revealed during the police investigation did not support her version of events.
Previously, the woman had claimed that Carvalho raped her in a hotel in Ibiza in September 2023, allegedly rendering her unconscious using some kind of drug.
William Carvalho has been playing for Real Betis since 2018. This season, the midfielder has made four appearances without any goal contributions.
The Portuguese player's contract with the Spanish club runs until the summer of 2026.
