"Choosing the Starting XI is a Challenge". Maresca on Chelsea's Line-up
Chelsea's Head Coach Enzo Maresca has discussed the challenges of selecting his team's starting line-up.
— Is there currently an excess of players in the squad?
— As long as the transfer window is open, we can sell and sign players. When it closes, it becomes easier not only for me but for all coaches around the world.
It has been difficult to choose 11 starting players. The thing is, we have players on the bench who perhaps deserved to be in the starting XI — for example, Mykhailo Mudryk and some others. But sometimes, decisions have to be made.
— Are you concerned that some players might not be very happy?
— No, I don’t think so. Handling situations like this is part of my job. I have no issues with it, — Maresca told Football London.
Currently, the Blues have 43 players registered in their squad. This summer, Chelsea has signed eight footballers.
