Daley Blind announces retirement from international duty with the Netherlands

Girona defender Daley Blind has announced his retirement from the Dutch national team. 

Blind made his debut for the national side in February 2013. During his time with the «Oranje», the 34-year-old defender has appeared in 109 matches, scoring three goals and providing 15 assists. He was part of the Netherlands team that secured bronze at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and reached the finals of the UEFA Nations League.

His final tournament with the national team was Euro 2024. In Germany, Blind made just one appearance, coming on as a substitute in the closing moments of the Round of 16 match against Romania. 

Since the summer of last year, Daley Blind has been playing for Girona. His contract with the Spanish club runs until the summer of 2026.
