Dana White: Tsarukyan is the Top Contender for a Fight Against Makhachev

UFC President Dana White has announced that Russian fighter Arman Tsarukyan is the top contender for a fight against lightweight champion Islam Makhachev.

"Islam is always ready for a fight and has proven it time and time again. There won't be a fight for an interim title. We are waiting for Makhachev to be ready. We have plans, and we are currently discussing the date for his next fight. As for Arman Tsarukyan, yes, he is the primary contender. I'm not sure if they will be able to compete on December 7, but we are actively working on it," White stated on Manouk Akopyan's YouTube channel.

Previously, Tsarukyan mentioned that the fight against Makhachev could take place early next year.
