Deco Explains Why Barcelona Signed Olmo from Leipzig

Barcelona’s sporting director Deco has shed light on the club’s decision to sign midfielder Dani Olmo.

"We have signed Dani Olmo as he is the midfielder we didn't have. There was a lot of quality, but Dani was a player we lacked. Dani gives us this hunger to win. Barça has always been a mix of home players and hungry footballers" Deco told journalist and insider Fabrizio Romano.

Olmo joined Barcelona from RB Leipzig on August 9. This season, the midfielder has played two matches in La Liga for the Catalan club, scoring two goals.

The 26-year-old’s contract with the Blaugrana runs until the summer of 2030, with a buyout clause set at €500 million.
