Dustin Poirier: "Back to Battle, One Last Honorable Fight"

Former interim UFC lightweight champion (up to 70 kg), Dustin Poirier, has stated that he currently has no plans to retire from MMA.

“I will walk my path once more. Back to battle, to the last honorable fight I have ever known. Live to stay and die in this day,” Poirier wrote on social media.

On June 2, Islam Makhachev defeated Dustin Poirier at UFC 302. The fight ended with the Russian winning by submission in the fifth round. It marked Islam's third successful defense of the lightweight title.

Following this defeat, Poirier admitted that he had been considering retirement.
