Felix underwent medical exam in London before transfer to Chelsea
Madrid's Atletico forward Joao Felix has undergone a medical examination in London ahead of his transfer to Chelsea. This information has been reported by insider Fabrizio Romano on social media.
The contract between the club and the player will run until June 2030 with the option to extend until 2031. Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher will fly to Madrid once all documents related to Felix's deal are signed. Reports suggest that Atletico will pay €40 million for the Englishman and sign him until the summer of 2029.
Earlier, Romano reported that the London club had reached an agreement with the Spanish team to acquire the 24-year-old Felix for €40-45 million. In 2019, Atletico set a club transfer record by purchasing Joao Felix from Benfica for €127.2 million. During his time at the Madrid club, the forward played 131 matches, scored 34 goals, and provided 18 assists.
Felix had previously played for Chelsea in the second half of the 2022/23 season. The Portuguese player scored four goals in 20 games for the London team.
