Félix set to join Chelsea as part of Gallagher transfer to Atlético

Atletico Madrid forward João Félix is set to continue his career at Chelsea.

According to insider Fabrizio Romano, the London club has agreed with the Spanish side to acquire the 24-year-old striker for a fee ranging from €40 to €45 million. Félix will sign a six-year contract with the Blues, which includes an option for an additional year.

Meanwhile, Atlético is finalizing the transfer of Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher. Reports indicate that the Madrid club will pay €40 million for the Englishman and have reached an agreement for a contract lasting until the summer of 2029.

In 2019, Atlético set a club transfer record by purchasing João Félix from Benfica for €127.2 million. During his time with the Madrid club, Félix made 131 appearances, scoring 34 goals and providing 18 assists.

Félix previously spent the second half of the 2022/23 season on loan at Chelsea, where he scored four goals in 20 matches for the Londoners.

His contract with Atlético runs until the summer of 2029, and Transfermarkt currently values the player at €30 million.
