Former Arsenal player Wilshere nearing appointment as Norwich head coach

Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is reportedly close to being appointed as the head coach of Norwich City.

According to insider Fabrizio Romano, talks between the parties are in the final stages. The Gunners are prepared to release the 32-year-old Englishman, who has been working with their youth team since July 2022.

Jack Wilshere, a product of Arsenal’s academy, made 197 appearances for the London club, winning two FA Cups and one Community Shield. The midfielder also played for West Ham, Bournemouth, and Danish club Aarhus, where he ended his playing career in the summer of 2022. Wilshere has also earned 34 caps for the England national team, scoring two goals and providing two assists.

Norwich currently sits seventh in the Championship table, having accumulated 15 points from nine matches. The Canaries are just one point shy of the playoff spots for promotion to the English Premier League.
