Former Djokovic Trainer May Join Sinner's Team
Marco Panichi, the former fitness coach of Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic, may join the team of world number one Jannik Sinner. This was reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Panichi worked with Djokovic from 2017 to 2024. The Italian specialist has also collaborated with Fabio Fognini, Ivo Karlović, and Philipp Kohlschreiber.
Recently, it became known that Sinner dismissed Giacomo Naldi and coach Umberto Ferrara amidst a doping scandal. In March this year, the Italian tennis player tested positive for doping twice but avoided disqualification.
The ATP ranking leader managed to prove that the anabolic steroid clostebol entered his system accidentally. Naldi had treated a cut on his own hand with a spray containing the substance before giving Sinner a massage without wearing gloves. The spray was provided by Ferrara.
