Former Russian Formula 1 driver Nikita Mazepin has been removed from the European Union's sanctions list

Russian driver Nikita Mazepin has been removed from the European Union's sanctions list.

The former Formula 1 driver had previously been sanctioned "for his connections with influential Russian businessman Dmitry Mazepin," who is his father. In March this year, the EU court ruled to exclude Mazepin from the sanctions list.

Earlier, sanctions on Nikita Mazepin and Uralkali had been partially lifted, with the court ordering the Haas team to return Uralkali's racing car and reimburse part of the invested funds.

In 2021, Mazepin was a driver for the Haas team, where his partner was Mick Schumacher. The Russian competed in 22 Formula 1 races and finished in 21st place.
