Guardiola Doubts Manchester City's Readiness for the New Season

Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola has expressed doubts about the club's readiness for the 2024/25 season.

“I cannot say if we are ready for the season. We could have lost in the Super Cup match; the team was close to losing just minutes before the end. So, we need to wait. I saw many things that I liked. The first 35 minutes of the match were excellent. But we are still far from our best form. This is normal, but it is better to start with a trophy. It feels nicer, but the reality is that our victory changed nothing," Guardiola told ESPN.

On August 10, Manchester City defeated Manchester United 1-1, 7-6 on penalties, in the FA Super Cup match.

Manchester City has won this trophy for the seventh time in their history. The last time 'The Citizens' claimed the Super Cup was in 2019.
