Hamilton on retirement: "I know when it's time to stop"

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has addressed questions regarding his potential retirement from Formula 1.

«There are days when I think, ‘ ***** , I don't know how much longer I can keep this up.’ There are also days when I feel like, ‘I would love to take a break because the season doesn't really have long pauses like other sports do.’ In reality, drivers don’t have that much downtime. But I have a plan for what I want to achieve.

Do I ever stop being myself and lose the love for what I do? I hope that moment never comes. However, I know when I’ll need to stop. I want to ensure that I am truly getting the most out of it while I can and enjoying the sport I have dedicated my life to», Hamilton told Esquire.

Ahead of the current Formula 1 season, it was announced that Hamilton will leave Mercedes and join Ferrari at its conclusion.
