Henry parts ways with France's Under-21 team

Former Arsenal and Barcelona striker Thierry Henry has left his position as head coach of France's Under-21 team. This was confirmed by the French Football Federation (FFF) through an official statement.

The 47-year-old coach ended his contract with the national side for personal reasons.

"I would like to thank the FFF and the president Philippe Diallo who offered me this incredible opportunity.

Winning the silver medal at the Olympic Games for my country will remain one of the greatest prides of my life.

I am incredibly grateful to the federation, the players, the staff and the supporters who allowed me to live a magical experience," Henry stated, as quoted by the FFF press service.

Henry took charge of the Under-21 team in August of last year. Under his leadership, the squad claimed a silver medal at the Paris Olympic Games, narrowly losing to Spain in the final after extra time, with a score of 5-3.

Previously, Henry had managed the Canadian side Montreal Impact and Monaco, and was also part of Roberto Martinez's coaching staff with the Belgian national team.
