In court regarding assault charges, Ben Yedder admitted to having an alcohol addiction

Former Monaco forward Wissam Ben Yedder admitted to suffering from alcohol addiction during a court hearing where he faces charges of sexual assault, according to Spanish outlet Sport.es.

The 34-year-old footballer is suspected of committing the alleged crime in early September when he reportedly met a woman at a party and invited her into his car.

The prosecution is seeking a two-and-a-half-year prison sentence for Wissam. The former Monaco and Sevilla player, who was arrested on September 6, claims he does not recall the incident due to alcohol consumption. The 34-year-old athlete acknowledged difficulties in controlling his drinking.
