Inzaghi on the Draw with Manchester City: "I Wanted to Win"

Inter Milan head coach Simone Inzaghi has commented on the goalless draw with Manchester City (0-0) in the first round of the Champions League.

"I congratulated the guys; they were fantastic. We had our chances, especially in the first half. Playing against City just three days before the derby was tough, but the schedule is what it is, and we have to adapt.

In the penalty area, composure and technique are crucial. We've got skillful players, and we practice finishing a lot. But we need to work even harder.

Against teams like City and Real Madrid, it always feels like you might score, but it's tough. I remember Taremi’s chance vividly and Darmian’s moment, but Matteo said that Barella called for the pass. It's a pity because I wanted to win, especially since they haven’t lost at home since 2018,” Inzaghi's words were reported by journalist Daniele Mari on social media.

The next Champions League fixtures will be on October 1st—Manchester City will face Slovan, while Inter will meet Crvena Zvezda.
