Ipswich Town close to signing Manchester City midfielder

Ipswich Town is on the verge of signing Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips.

According to insider Fabrizio Romano, the Tractor Boys have reached an agreement with the Citizens to loan the 28-year-old Englishman for the season, with no option to buy. The midfielder may finalize his contract with Ipswich as early as today, pending a medical examination.

Kalvin Phillips has been with Manchester City since 2022. He spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham, where he made ten appearances without contributing to the scoresheet.

The midfielder's contract with the Citizens runs until the summer of 2028. Transfermarkt values the player at €25 million.

Ipswich Town made their return to the Premier League after 22 years, having secured promotion at the end of the last season.
