It has been revealed why Chelsea did not include Cole Palmer in their Europa Conference League squad

London's Chelsea FC has decided not to include forward Cole Palmer in their squad for the UEFA Europa Conference League, citing concerns over the player's workload this season, as reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano on social media.

Also left out of the squad are defender Wesley Fofana and midfielder Romeo Lavia. According to the source, this decision was influenced by the possibility that Chelsea's season could extend until July 2025, partly due to their participation in the FIFA Club World Cup.

Palmer will miss England's national team camp in September due to a muscle injury.

Enzo Maresca's side will kick off their Europa Conference League group stage campaign with a home match against Gent on October 3. Additionally, the Blues are set to face Heidenheim, Astana, Shamrock Rovers, Panathinaikos, and Noah in their group matches.
