Italian Paralympian Stripped of Medal Due to Phone Discovery
Italian rower Giacomo Perini has been stripped of his bronze medal from the Paralympics after a phone was discovered in his boat. The device was found in the athlete’s bag following the race.
The Italian federation stated that Perini had forgotten to remove his phone before the start and had not used it during the competition. They have filed an appeal; however, the judges have rejected the protest.
