James Rodriguez has signed a contract with Rayo Vallecano

Former Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez has signed a contract with La Liga club Rayo Vallecano, as announced by the Madrid club's press service on social media.

The Colombian's contract with the Madrid club runs until June 2025, with an option to extend for an additional season.

On August 20, Legalbet reported the imminent transfer of James to Rayo. Additionally, on August 2, Legalbet revealed that Moscow's Dynamo planned to strengthen their squad with Rodriguez; however, the 33-year-old midfielder declined the move due to a reluctance to continue his career in Russia.

Rodriguez's last club was São Paulo, where he played from July 2023 to August 2024. During his tenure, he featured in 22 matches across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing four assists. Transfermarkt values the player at €5 million.

Rodriguez has also played for Porto, Monaco, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Everton. He has represented the Colombian national team in 106 matches, scoring 28 goals. The midfielder was named the best player of the 2024 Copa America.
