Japanese boxer Inoue successfully defended his title as the unified world champion for the second time

Japanese boxer Naoya Inoue successfully defended his title as the unified world champion in the bantamweight division (up to 55.22 kg). 

The 12-round bout took place in Tokyo, where he secured victory over Irish boxer T.J. Doheny. The fight was stopped in the seventh round due to a technical knockout.

Inoue has now confirmed his status as WBC and WBO world champion for the third time, while also defending his IBF and WBA belts for the second time.
