Kudus fined and handed five-match ban following red card against Tottenham

West Ham midfielder Mohammed Kudus has been fined and suspended for five matches after being sent off in the eighth round of the Premier League against Tottenham Hotspur.

According to the Hammers' press office, the English Football Association (FA) added two games to the 24-year-old midfielder's initial three-match ban and imposed a £60,000 fine for aggressive conduct. Additionally, the organization has ordered the London club to pay £30,000 for failing to control their players.

The match between West Ham and Tottenham took place on October 19, ending in a 4-1 victory for the Spurs. Kudus received a straight red card in the 86th minute after an altercation with opposing defender Micky van de Ven.

Mohammed Kudus has been with West Ham since 2023. This season, the midfielder has scored two goals and provided one assist in ten appearances for the Hammers.

The Ghanaian player's contract with the London club runs until the summer of 2028.
