Leicester City could face points deduction in the Premier League due to financial breaches

Leicester City faces the possibility of two fines for breaching spending rules in the Premier League, according to The Sun citing sources. The English Football League (EFL) has passed the findings of its investigation into Leicester’s alleged breaches of the Profitability and Sustainability Regulations (PSR) to the Premier League. These regulations are designed to ensure that clubs do not spend more than they earn, protecting them from financial difficulties while maintaining competitive balance within the league.

In March, the Premier League accused Leicester of violating PSR regulations. However, the case was put on hold after the club filed a lawsuit claiming that the league did not have jurisdiction to charge them while the Foxes were competing in the second tier of English football.

Last season, Leicester spent time in the Championship, finishing in first place and securing their return to the Premier League. The club's first match of the new season is set to take place on August 19 against Tottenham Hotspur.
