Leicester secures midfielder from Tottenham

Leicester City has announced the signing of midfielder Oliver Skipp from Tottenham Hotspur.

The transfer fee amounts to £20 million, with an additional £5 million potentially available in bonuses. The 23-year-old has signed a contract with the Foxes that runs until the summer of 2029.

”I’m really excited to sign. I’ve got the feeling that it’s a good group of people and a good group of players. I’m sure that we’ve got a squad capable of challenging in every game. You look around the squad and there’s lots of exciting players who have played in the Premier League and I’m really excited to see what this group can achieve.

I had conversations with the people here and they gave me a feeling of warmth and that they were excited to have me on board. As a player, when you feel that excitement, that’s something you can use to develop your game,” Skipp said, as quoted by Leicester's press service

Oliver Skipp is a product of Tottenham's youth academy. While at the London club, the defensive midfielder made 106 appearances, scoring one goal and providing two assists.

Transfermarkt values the player at €15 million.

Today Leicester and Tottenham will face each other in the final match of the opening round of the Premier League.
