Liverpool could contest Manchester United for de Ligt

Liverpool are interested in acquiring Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt, who has already attracted an offer from Manchester United.

According to Football Insider, the Merseyside club's head coach, Arne Slot, believes that the 24-year-old Dutchman would be the perfect partner for Virgil van Dijk, with whom he plays for the Netherlands national team.

Last season, de Ligt made 30 appearances for Bayern, scoring two goals and providing one assist. His contract with the club runs until the summer of 2027.
