Álvarez defends trio of world titles with victory over Berlanga

The evening of professional boxing culminated with the highly anticipated bout between the Mexican WBC, WBA, and WBO world champion, Saúl "Canelo" Álvarez, and his American contender, Edgar Berlanga. 

The fight lasted the full 12 rounds and concluded with a unanimous decision in favor of the Mexican boxer. The judges scored the bout 117-110, 119-109, 119-109, all in favor of Canelo. During the third round, Álvarez knocked Berlanga down, solidifying his dominance throughout the match and successfully defending his championship titles.

Edgar Berlanga faced his first career defeat after previously winning all 22 of his bouts. Saúl Álvarez now boasts an impressive record of 62 victories (39 by knockout), two draws, and two defeats in his professional career.
