Lyon places all players on transfer list

Lyon has placed all members of its squad on the transfer list in a bid to avoid issues related to financial fair play.

According to L'Equipe, in the winter, the Les Gones promised the National Directorate of Management Control (DNCG), which oversees the financial conditions of French professional clubs, that they would generate €100 million through player sales in order to be allowed to conduct transactions this summer. The organization granted Lyon's request, but the club has yet to meet this requirement.

Now, Lyon must raise €100 million before the end of the summer transfer window to avoid penalties for breaching financial fair play rules. As a result, the club is prepared to part ways with any player on the roster.

In the current transfer window, Lyon has acquired eight players, spending over €130 million. However, the club has only sold defender Jake O'Brien for €19.5 million and midfielder Skelly Alvero for €4.75 million. This summer, Lyon faces a loss of €110 million in the transfer market.

According to Transfermarkt, the total market value of Lyon's first-team squad is estimated at €261.5 million.
