Manchester City could face 70-80 point deduction for financial violations

Premier League (PL) may dock Manchester City 70-80 points for financial violations, according to The Athletic, citing one of the club's executives, whose identity remains undisclosed.

«The collective opinion I've heard is that an appropriate penalty should be a substantial points deduction. We're talking about 70-80 points, which would guarantee the club's relegation to the Championship», — The Athletic quoted the unnamed executive.

To recap, last February, the EPL charged Manchester City with 115 breaches of financial fair play regulations spanning from the 2009/10 season to the 2017/18 season. Hearings for the case are scheduled to begin in September.
