Manchester United falls to Brighton in dramatic finish of Premier League match

Manchester United suffered a 1-2 defeat to Brighton in the second round of the Premier League. The match took place at the Falmer Stadium in Brighton.

The home side opened the scoring in the 32nd minute with a goal from Danny Welbeck. The Manchester club responded with a goal from Amad Diallo in the 60th minute, assisted by defender Noussair Mazraoui, who made the switch from Bayern Munich during the current transfer window. However, Brighton secured the victory with a precise strike from João Pedro in the fifth minute of injury time (90+5').

A potential equaliser for Manchester United from Alejandro Garnacho was ruled out in the 70th minute due to an offside call against Joshua Zirkzee, who inadvertently touched the ball with his knee on the goal line.

Brighton has now accumulated six points, maintaining their temporary lead at the top of the Premier League table. Manchester United, with three points, sits in eighth place.

In the next round, Brighton will face Arsenal away on August 31, while Manchester United will host Liverpool the following day.
